Hola Amigos!

Hola Amigos!

I’m back! Back in Spain’s deep south. Back on the blog.

Last year was our first attempt to see out the worst of the winter in sunny Spain. The adventure was cut short by the call back home to nurse my Mum and so, I forsook the sunny sierra for Glasgow’s glacial grip. And that’s not hyperbole; it was glacial for a while. I just re-read last year’s posts from these parts and it struck me how much water has flowed under life’s countless bridges these last 12 months. So, a bit of contemplation and searching of the soul may feature in this year’s blog as we embark on a 7-week migration, keeping every digit crossed that there is no call back home this year. There will also be (I hope) the usual mix of quirky characters, strange places, lovely landscapes, sketches from the Artist (if I can persuade him) and many a story of food. As someone said to me recently on reading my Tales from the Trail, there’s food on virtually every page. I may not look it, but there’s a serious foodie in here.

Good to be back – time for more Tales from the Sierra. I hope you enjoy them – keep your comments coming.

Thank you for adding me to the list, Liz! I would have absolutely hated that journey, but worth it to reach blue skies and some warmth….
