Hola Amigos!

Hola Amigos!

I’m back! Blogging from Spain’s very own Deep South. We’ve swopped the trains, hostels and cities of southeast Europe for a rural backwater in the driest corner of this amazing continent. 7 weeks here to escape the damp chill of a Blighty winter, another blog is, well, irresistible. So, Tales from the Trail has segued into Tales from the Sierra – or maybe that too should be plural because, no kidding, there are sierras all over the place. Everywhere you look there’s another sierra. As far as the eye can see, hillsides covered with scrubby shrubs, interspersed with almonds and olives and laced with bone-dry barrancas. These ravines must surely have been eroded by water but who knows where that can be – long gone. Anyway, lots more of the sweeping and compelling descriptions to come as the weeks and blogs unfold and the Artist does his stuff.

So, Blogees, I’m hoping, despite the lack of travel as in ‘journeying’ in this latest edition of Lizzie’s Travel Blog, that I can find an equally entertaining cast of characters and some amusing episodes to share that will accompany you through those long winter nights…..

Thank you for your comments on Tales from the Trail – keep them coming. I hope you’ll enjoy Tales from the Sierra.

At last!! We were beginning to worry about you! Just so you know, it is cold and windy here, with nary a sierra or barranca to be seen! xxx
